The 2019 mockbuster by The Asylum, Monster Island was published simultaneously with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


The movie is about an asylum and has a budget roughly equal to a large child's meal. It focuses on just a handful of characters and shoots all its sequences during lunch. But lest we forget, this is the kaiju genre, and you know, that's Monster Island (2019) review sort of how things go, so maybe The Asylum won't do so horrible with it?
